Iconic women visit us for womens day celebrations !
We were honoured to welcome Comrade Sophia Williams-De Bruyn, the last surviving leader of the historic 1956 Women’s March to the Union Buildings, where more than 20 000 women united to protest against unjust pass laws. Her personal account of that day, along with her reflections on the ongoing fight for equality, deeply inspired all who attended.
We were also privileged to have Comrade Sue Rabkin, grandmother of our a Grade 6 learner, also, join us. As an anti-apartheid activist, she too played a vital role in the struggle for the freedoms we enjoy today.
