In 2012, Ms Cachalia’s class presented an assembly for Freedom Day. Ahmed Kathrada was invited to speak to our children about his days of incarceration on Robben Island. His talk was fascinating and engaging. The children loved speaking to him and getting his autograph after the assembly.
We at PVS honour Uncle Kathy for his lifelong contribution to the struggle and what he sacrificed for our country’s freedom. He will be fondly remembered and honoured by all who knew him.
