On Friday, 21st April, our wonderful schools, PVJ and PVS turned 100!
This historic day was celebrated with a joint assembly of the Junior and Senior Schools on the grounds of the Junior School, which was the original site of the school building, opened in 2017.
The guest speakers included a representative from the MEC’s office; former principals of the Junior School Marj Holmes and Felicity Peter ; parent and historian Amelia Potenza and a message from Kathleen Perchtold, our Principal. We also enjoyed our choir’s beautiful rendition of songs from the era of the school’s early days, as well as an excellent poetry presentation by our drama group. The Junior School also sang beautifully. We were kept on our toes with entertaining questions about the history of the schools by parent Damon Berry. Mrs Fiona Pennington, principal of PVJ, welcomed us and Ms Usha Bahadur, our Acting Principal, closed the assembly with a vote of thanks. We had beautiful weather and a joyous celebration to remember!
We enjoyed Musical items by a talented group from the Department of Performing Arts and Cultural Development.
The children were treated to cupcakes to celebrate and undoubtedly this was the 1st hundredth birthday that they have ever attended! See our Gallery for the photos taken on the day.
Thank you to all the sponsors of the day!
