KIDS’ LIT QUIZ: Yes, we won!!!The KLQ Quiz is held annually by Wayne Mills, an expert in children’s literature from New Zealand. This is an International quiz, which Wayne holds in various parts of New Zealand, S.Africa, Australia, United Kingdom, Hong Kong, Canada, the United States, Nigeria, Singapore, Thailand and Indonesia. The teams answer 100 question in 10 categories in each round and they are not all easy, by any means.
Our amazing team consists of Brendan Hope in Gr 7, Emma Morgan-Allais and Cara Moore in Gr 6, and Solomon Plagerson in Gr 5. They came tie 1st with The King’s School Robinhills, and then our team won by answering the tie-breaker question. They won R1 000, and will be going forward to the South African finals to be held at Roedean on Saturday 29th February. What a wonderful achievement! “Readers are leaders!” Thank you to their parents for encouraging a culture of reading, as two of the team members are siblings of previous PVS KLQ members.
The world finals will be held in New Zealand mid- year, so let’s hope that they win the South African round! Congratulations Brendan, Cara, Emma and Solomon! We are exceptionally proud of you!
